OMRON'S CX-SERVER LITE SOFTWARE ASSISTS IN CREATING
HMI PROJECTS AND FEATURES ACTIVE-X OBJECTS

SCHAUMBURG, IL (March 5, 2001) - CX-Server Lite is designed to meet a wide variety of programmers' needs from the simple to the advanced. Used to create PC-based simple HMI projects, CX-Server Lite allows designers of custom programs to send and receive PLC data and manipulate controllers within Omron networks.

The software's ActiveX objects can be added to an existing third-party SCADA program, allowing quick, reliable display of information from an Omron network. CX-Server Lite includes eight Active-X graphical control objects that can be dragged-and-dropped into Excel or Visual Basic to create simple PC-based HMI. These graphical controls provide the basic elements for binary and numeric display and control. Objects can be used either without modification, configured within their own properties dialog or manipulated within programming environments, such as Excel or Visual Basic using the script interface.

Users can also utilize a set of 15 script commands included with CX-Server Lite to access CX-Server quickly and reliably from within programming languages such as Visual Basic and C++. CX-Server Lite script commands can be added to any third-party ActiveX object, either an off-the-shelf object or ActiveX objects from the Microsoft®ƒÀ Up
